New phone shop causes a stir in Stokes Croft

A new mobile phone shop is causing a stir in Stokes Croft thanks to an eye-catching mural created by Bristol street artists.

The facade of The Phone Shop, on Kings Square Avenue, is entirely covered with brightly-coloured logos from the world of news, technology and social media, including Facebook, Apple and Angry Birds.

Local artists 3Dom and Haka created the artwork using free-hand spray-paint, taking just three days to complete it.

The theme continues inside the shop, with quirky custom wallpaper and graphics featuring Marlon Brando in The Godfather.

Business owner Zacc Ghaderi explained: "We wanted something that would fit in with the local environment and cultural traits that Stokes Croft possesses.

"The shop attracts a lot of attention from passers-by, and I'd say about one in five people actually stop to take a photograph."

The shop, which opened in November last year, specialises in mobile phones, phone repairs and accessories. It is also the only shop in Bristol to create custom cases by request, which can be made to any design within the hour.
