KANSAS CITY -- David Ortiz went 1-for-2 with a warning track fly out to left against Giants right-hander Matt Cain in the second inning and then a single to left in the fifth inning against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw before being replaced by Royals DH Billy Butler. The lone Red Sox representative on the American League squad (which lost to the NL, 8-0) expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to take part in his eighth All-Star Game.
