Testimonial dinner for Bristol City legend Louis Carey

Bristol City are to stage a testimonial dinner for long-serving defender Louis Carey later this year.

The event will take place at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel on Saturday, March 23 and tickets are now on sale.

Born and raised in Headley Park and a lifelong Robins fan, Carey has played for the club 635 times and is just 10 short of John Atyeo's all-time appearance record.

He is in the final year of his contract and benefited from a testimonial game against arch rivals Bristol Rovers in August.

Tickets cost £65 each and include a three-course dinner and just 252 are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Proceeds from the event will be shared among Carey's chosen charities, the Children's Hospice South West http://www.chsw.org.uk/ and the Starfish Appeal Charity http://www.starfishpoolappeal.org.uk/.
